NEWPORT BEACH, CA - Tomorrow will be a big day for Fresh Solutions Network® and its Side Delights® brand, as the two will be hitting the trade show floor for the Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Innovations show. Represented by Sterman Masser Potato Farms of Sacramento, Pennsylvania, the company will highlight its latest innovations and retail advantages.
“We have exhibited at Southern Innovations for almost a decade. We are also a proud sponsor of this show, supporting the post-show tailgate party on Saturday afternoon,” said Kathleen Triou, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We find regional shows such as this provide the perfect environment to showcase our innovations with key customers in a relatively intimate environment.”
The fresh potato category continues to be a central category for retail buyers. From July 2021 to June 2022, compared to the same timeframe a year ago, fresh potato sales accounted for 23 percent of retail store sales and 28 percent of volume sold, according to a press release. Fresh potato micro/steamer packages and tray potatoes increased in dollar and volume sales as well. Micro/steamer potatoes increased by 4.5 percent in dollars and by 2.6 percent in volume, while tray potatoes increased by 8.4 percent in dollars and by 1 percent in volume sales.
Side Delights offers potatoes in a full assortment of sizes and types, including convenience-oriented items like Steamables, Bakeables, and Grillables. All of the brand’s potatoes are 100 percent non-GMO, the press release noted.
