ISSAQUAH, WA - Costco’s numbers for fiscal year 2022 were already looking strong when the grocer revealed net sales of $17.55 billion for the month of August. Now, we’ve been granted a closer look at the chain’s performance for the 16-week fourth quarter and the 52-week fiscal year, which ended August 28, 2022, and Costco is still on the rise.
This latest report revealed a $198 million income boost as the retailer’s fourth quarter net income reached $1.868 billion, a substantial rise from the $1.670 billion reported last year.
According to the press release, Costco’s net sales for the quarter increased 15.2 percent, to $70.76 billion, from $61.44 billion last year. For the full fiscal year, net sales increased 16.0 percent, to $222.73 billion, from $192.05 billion last year.
The company’s net income for the fiscal year reached $5.84 billion compared to $5.01 billion in the prior year.
