OXNARD, CA - Mission Produce’s latest philanthropic initiative has resulted in a generous $130,000 contribution to charitable organizations that benefit children, families, and ag education. On September 16, the avocado and mango provider hosted its annual golf tournament in support of The Mission Foundation.

Steve Barnard, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mission Produce“I’m grateful for the generosity of our people and sponsors as we celebrate Mission’s 10th golf tournament fundraiser,” said Steve Barnard, Chief Executive Officer and Founder. “This annual tradition brings out the ‘fun’ in our Mission Produce culture, while allowing us to give back to our communities and provide a space for those in the industry to connect.”

The Mission Foundation gives 100 percent of event revenue back to charitable organizations, a press release noted. At this year’s tournament, held at the Moorpark Country Club in Moorpark, California, over 180 players from the United States and Canada were in attendance. After the tournament, Mission also hosted a banquet to recognize the day’s top performers.
