NEW YORK, NY - Shoppers are always looking for their next produce aisle staple, and brand distinctions are often an opening to new experiences. Bowery Farming will likely begin attracting more repeat purchases, as the supplier recently announced that its smart farms are now OU Kosher certified in addition to their certification by the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program with Level 2 Good Manufacturing Practices.
“Now, with our new OU Kosher certification, we’re taking our commitment one step further. The Kosher certification carries the mark of quality, purity, and high standards across a range of consumer demographics,” Katie Seawell, Chief Commercial Officer, said in a statement to ANUK.
As explained in an announcement from the company, Bowery grows leafy greens, herbs, and strawberries indoors 365 days a year, independent of climate and weather. All Bowery produce is pesticide-free and ready-to-eat, providing both convenience and safety to customers seeking more sustainable, wildly flavorful, locally grown greens.
“Bowery is one of the few Kosher-certified products in the packaged salad category, and we’re proud to offer more consumers our pesticide-free produce that's fully traceable from seed to shelf and shielded from the pollutants, contamination, and environmental disruption seen in traditional farming,” Katie added.
What will be Bowery’s next certification? ANUK will be sure to report when we find out.
