NEWCASTLE, ON - Cheers can be heard coming from the apple sector as one supplier welcomes an experienced new leader. Algoma Orchards has tapped Eric Biddiscombe as its Director of Sales and Business Development.
Biddiscombe will use his experience to bolster the company’s standing as an independent apple grower and packer in Canada, a press release explained. His experience in the industry is wide ranging, making him an excellent addition to the sales team.
Algoma Orchards’ farming roots extend back four generations when the company began growing and packing apples in the 1900s. Currently, the Newcastle, Ontario-based supplier produces its offerings in a 200,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art packing and juice-bottling facility.
Kirk Kemp, President of Algoma Orchards, commented on Biddiscombe's recent appointment and what he will bring to the team.
“We are excited to have a produce industry leader of Eric’s caliber join our senior team at Algoma,” he said. “Eric is very well respected on both the vendor and retail sides of the business with a very diverse leadership background in supply chain, process improvement, merchandising, procurement, QA, packaging, and produce sales.
