SAN DIEGO, CA - Take me out to the ball game, because Del Rey Avocado recently announced a major partnership. The avo provider is now the Official Avocado Partner of the San Diego Padres for the 2023 MLB season.
“We are so excited that this collaboration has come to fruition. It is an honor to partner with an organization with similar values as Del Rey Avocado. Besides both of us located in San Diego, we have so many similarities across the board—from the confidence in our teams to constantly aiming to be successful every time we step on the field,” Patrick Lucy, President of Del Rey Avocado, stated. “We aren’t the largest avocado company in the industry; however, that doesn’t hold us back from trying to be the best.”
With both Padres and Del Rey Avocado founded in 1969 and named after Latin references, the partnership was a match made in sunny California heaven.
As noted in the release, Del Rey Avocado is expanding the visibility and validation of produce commodities in professional sports leagues through this new partnership. Connecting with fans through marketing materials and sampling demonstrations will help educate baseball fans on avocado health benefits.
“The San Diego Padres are proud to partner with locally owned Del Rey Avocado,” said Sergio Del Prado, Padres Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. “Both founded in San Diego in 1969, we share a long-time commitment to supporting the community and providing the highest quality product to our customers. We’re excited for Padres fans to enjoy Del Rey Avocados at Petco Park this season as we continue to enhance the concessions experience at America’s #1 Ballpark.”
Just as Del Prado said, baseball fans can enjoy Del Rey Avocado’s California avocados through sampling demos during select games at Petco Park this season. Fans will also witness the provider’s brightly colored neon signs during ball games and learn about California avocados.
“Our goal at the food demos is to introduce new varieties of avocados and the benefits that avocados have for all ages to the best baseball fan base in the U.S.,” concluded Lucy.
Where will we see the newest partnerships next? Keep an eye out for ANUK.
