COMMERCE, CA - If retailers do not have a premium green bean destination this holiday season, consider it a missed opportunity. As one of the longest-running staples across Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations along with many others, this category proves time and again to be an essential part of the consumer’s holiday basket. With the challenges present in the green bean season this year, it is more essential than ever to have a partner who can keep supply and support resilient and consistent. Enter 4Earth Farms™, whose strategic growing practices are paying off for retailers looking for organic and conventional green beans in response to heightened demand and the season’s hurdles.

Dave Hewitt, Vice President of Sales, 4Earth Farms™“Navigating weather events this time of year is the norm, and this season has proved challenging. Our decision to shift volumes and strategy in several regions, including California, Baja, and mainland Mexico, are proving to be foresighted,” said Dave Hewitt, Vice President of Sales.

Kelly Daniels, Vice President of Supply, provided some insights on what to expect over the coming weeks.

Kelly Daniels, Vice President of Supply, 4Earth Farms™“Weather permitting, we will still be pulling both organic and conventional green beans from our fields in Northern California, as well as from Baja, Mexico, and California’s Coachella Valley,” Kelly expressed. “An October freeze affected us in the Guanajuato region of Central Mexico, but we are covered well from our fields in Jalisco, which have harvest scheduled for the first week of November. We are also seeing consistent volume from our other growing regions of Central Mexico.”

Despite the challenges to the category this year, 4Earth Farms remains prepared to fulfill the needs of its customers.

Packing in 12 oz bags, 1 lb bags, 2 lb bags, random-weight handle bags, and bulk, 4Earth Farms™ has the supply and flexibility to fill organic and conventional bean needs for the holidays and year-round

“With weather patterns changing and storms increasing in ferocity, utilizing diverse growing regions to maintain consistent supply for our customers will continue to be our battle plan,” Dave added. “We are still assessing the damage caused by Hurricane Norma in Sinaloa. Our managers on the ground are reporting crop losses of 30–35 percent in some areas, but feel confident that we’ll be back in full production by January.”
