FOWLER, CA - California’s citrus season is truly something to behold. Whenever I take my dog for a walk, there are lemon, lime, and orange trees full of fruit across my neighborhood. Seeing the bounty of California’s domestic citrus season at work, it’s easy to get inspired to cook with citrus all winter long. Lucky for consumers like me, Bee Sweet Citrus has several winter varieties available to help bolster seasonal promotions. Retailers, I already know you’re planning your sets!
“California-grown citrus is great because our climate helps produce citrus with a perfect sugar-acid ratio,” Director of Harvesting and Grower Relations Randy Stucky commented. “The state’s unique soil and climate, coupled with the latest technology and farming practices, ensure our customers that we’re shipping the highest quality fruit possible.”
A press release explained that since the start of the season, Bee Sweet Citrus has added Mandarins, Navel Oranges, Cara Cara Navels, lemons, Meyer lemons, Pummelos and grapefruit to its diverse citrus line.
Each variety is flavorful in its own unique way and can be a tasty addition to holiday meals and desserts on top of being healthy snacks. Their nutrition makes citrus ideal for those looking to incorporate immunity-boosting produce in their diet.
“Winter is a great time to market the citrus category because most shoppers are either dealing with the hustle and bustle of the holidays or dealing with the effects of cold and flu season,” added Director of Communications Monique Mueller. “No matter the reason, our citrus varieties beautifully complement vibrant holiday meals while providing shoppers with an added boost of vitamin C.”
Over the next few weeks, Bee Sweet Citrus will ship Heirloom Navels and specialty citrus varieties like Royal Red Oranges and Minneola Tangelos. Not only does the company offer these premium varieties, but the citrus line meets strict standards in safety and quality. All varieties are also available in new, high graphic packaging as well as bag and bulk options.
