MEXICO & CA - Bobalu’s berry baskets are hard at work to deliver on demand, with the company showcasing how all hands are on deck in its growing regions.
“This region has really come through over the last couple of weeks to support the demand for stems leading into the Valentine’s holiday,” Cindy Jewell, Vice President of Marketing, shared in a recent update. “Our QC team has been focused on sizing and color in these stem packs to ensure best quality. We have also had strong and consistent volume of regular pack sizes to support our customers as our California regions continue to have weather disruptions.”
Currently, Bobalu expects to have good quality fruit continuing out of its Mexico-based growing regions.
Keeping the industry apprised of the good and the challenges, Cindy also pointed out the recent storms that poured strongly on Southern California. The grower is currently at work alleviating sodden fields in the Oxnard and Santa Maria areas.
“As you know by watching the national news, we got hit pretty hard in southern California with rain and heavy winds over the last week or so,” she shared in the update. “The sun is out today, so we are cleaning up and moving forward.”
While the weather is still expected to be cooler during the days and dipping into the 40s at night, Bobalu is happy to see some dry days ahead going into next week.
With rain still in next week’s forecast, the grower assured all steps are being taken to protect and harvest as much as possible.
We will continue to report on any and all produce updates as they become available.
