LONG BEACH, CA - In today’s competitive market, you need an edge. Whether that’s marketing, new technology, a great team, or a lucky mix of all three, retailers are making sure to differentiate themselves from the competition.
Recently, Gelson’s Markets is distinguishing itself with an expansive rooftop bar overlooking its Long Beach, California, location. This Gelson’s location sits smack dab in the middle of Long Beach’s Marina neighborhood.
The retail chain also offers a complimentary Sip ‘n’ Shop program, in which a Gelson’s associate does the shopping from customers' shopping lists without them needing to leave its wine bar area.
According to reporting from Long Beach Post, the open-air bar is dubbed “Alehouse on the Mezzanine” and features local craft beers on tap. For many within the neighborhood, the rooftop bar is becoming a local spot to hang out and do some people watching.
As we see more grocers lean into becoming havens for their patrons, what innovations will we see next?
