BAKERSFIELD, CA - Announcing its strategic expansion in North America, Sun World International has enhanced its network of licensed growers and marketers. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality fresh produce to its partners and customers.
“We are delighted to expand our global footprint through the appointment of renowned importers and marketers,” said Petri van der Merwe, Vice President of Global Licensing. “The newly appointed importers and California marketers will join a distinguished list of current importers and marketers, further strengthening Sun World’s distribution across the U.S. and Canada.”
Sun World's growing network now includes notable importers such as Courchesne Larose, a leading Canadian company established in 1918; Forever Fresh, a vertically integrated grower-owned firm; and Giumarra International, a table grape importer since 1984. Other key partners include Tastyfrutti International, providing fresh fruit since 1984, and Robinson Fresh, a major logistics provider.
According to a press release, the appointed marketers also included Fowler Packing, a significant California farming operation, and Four Star Sales & Four Star Fruit, specializing in table grape production.
“At Sun World, we develop partnerships with companies that share our vision and values, driving the growth of our consumer brands while maximizing returns for our licensed growers,” noted Zach Cason, North America Licensing Manager.
The newly appointed importers are authorized to market Sun World’s proprietary grape varieties throughout the U.S. and Canada, sourcing from regions including Peru, Chile, Brazil, and South Africa. Licensees will import and market both existing and newly developed varieties under renowned brands such as AUTUMNCRISP®, ADORA SEEDLESS®, and MIDNIGHT BEAUTY®.
In addition to expanding its licensee network, Sun World aimed to increase its visibility at international trade shows. The company is showcasing its innovative products at Fruit Attraction in Madrid from October 8-10, 2024, and plans to participate in the Global Produce & Floral Show in Atlanta from October 17-19, 2024.
