FRESNO, CA - California Fresh Fruit Association recently released a statement in regard to Governor Newsom’s enactment of legislation to reform the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA).

Daniel Hartwig, President, California Fresh Fruit Association

“CFFA is grateful that the coalition was able to come together and reach a solution to the scourge of PAGA lawsuits. Far too many ag employers have been on the receiving end of these shakedown lawsuits and have spent millions of their hard-earned dollars in attorney fees to make them go away. This reform effort helps protect employers and employees," commented President Daniel Hartwig.

A press release noted that the association is proud to have been a partner in the Fix PAGA Coalition, as this new state law will make significant improvements to how PAGA cases are handled in California.

ANAHEIM, CA - Retailers, are you getting ready for the summer’s Olympics? Frieda’s sure is as it looks to revive a successful produce strategy. The produce company debuted its ready-to-eat crêpes over 40 years ago, seeing a boost in sales by strategically placing them in the produce aisle next to fresh summer berries. This year, the company is utilizing Olympic fervor with a unique campaign appropriately featuring the French-style crêpes in new packaging with Olympics-themed stickers.

Alex Jackson, Vice President of Sales and Procurement, Frieda's Branded Produce

"Designed to appeal to national and regional retailers, buyers, merchandisers, and produce department professionals, these crêpes promise to bring a taste of France to consumers across the country," shared Alex Jackson, Vice President of Sales and Procurement.

Frieda’s has also elevated in-store merchandising with a two-tier, French bakery-inspired display for the produce department. The company encourages retailers to hang these displays on or near the berry case, as hooks are included. Consider also bringing in other items from the store, such as whipped cream and dessert toppings, a release stated.
