KINGSVILLE, ON - Mastronardi Produce® is proud to announce another standout performance at this year’s Greenhouse Competitions held in Leamington, ON, continuing the SUNSET® brand legacy of exceptional greenhouse-grown produce.

Hosted annually by R.E.A.CH. International, the Greenhouse Competitions is known for celebrating flavor and quality in greenhouse growing across the Essex County region — home to the largest greenhouse industry in North America.

SUNSET® impressed the judges with outstanding flavor, appearance, and overall quality, earning a total of 27 awards, with top honors in the following categories:

  • Best Overall Tomato – Wild Wonders®
  • Specialty Tomato – Wild Wonders®
  • Bite-sized Tomato – Bombs® Squad™
  • Specialty Pepper – Aloha®
  • Chef's Choice, Strawberry – Summer Delight™

Over the years, Mastronardi Produce® has won over 200 awards at the Leamington Greenhouse Competitions, evaluated by a panel of independent experts, including representatives from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, chefs, and retail produce professionals. This history of strong performance highlights Mastronardi’s commitment to consistent excellence from seed to shelf.

Paul Mastronardi, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mastronardi Produce®

“Each year, this competition brings out the very best in our industry,” said Paul Mastronardi, President and CEO of Mastronardi Produce®, in the recent release. “We’re incredibly proud of our growers and teams who make achievements like this possible. Their passion for quality and innovation continues to set the standard.”

Beyond the awards, the event also provides an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of R.E.A.CH. International, as net proceeds from the Greenhouse Competitions are used for R.E.A.CH.’s main project in Uganda, Africa, sponsoring over 70 children a year, providing education, clean water, health care, and community income projects.

Looking ahead, Mastronardi Produce® remains focused on pushing boundaries in the produce industry, supporting its grower network, and continuing to deliver the fresh and flavorful SUNSET® produce customers know and love.
