KINGSVILLE, ON- October 1st marks the start of National Tomato Month, and this year Mastronardi Produce® is going all-out honoring its iconic SUNSET® Campari® Cocktail Tomato with promotions during the month of October.

Throughout the month, retailers and consumers can look forward to a host of activities and publicity celebrating America’s favorite cocktail tomato, Campari®. The promotion kicks off with the launch of three videos honoring the Campari® tomato, each leaning into the connection between flavor and memory. One video tells the story of the discovery, one leans into family and nostalgia, and one approaches food and memory with a comedic twist.

Geoff Kosar, Vice President of Marketing, Mastronardi Produce®

Retailers can expect robust support from the brand through paid digital advertising, a national morning show TV tour, and online campaign. In-store, they can take advantage of custom POS displays to join the celebrations and leverage brand promotions. “Campari® recently celebrated its 30th birthday, and this campaign allows retailers to tap into our wider marketing efforts for National Tomato Month,” said Geoff Kosar, VP Marketing. “We also have a big surprise planned for consumers in October so stay tuned.”

"We're looking forward to celebrating this month with our retail partners and consumers alike."

Grown in the “Land of Eternal Spring”

Our Southern Selects heirloom tomatoes are greenhouse-grown in Guatemala, a country often called the “land of eternal spring.” Nestled between volcanoes, the region offers fertile soil, abundant natural resources, and an ideal temperature environment—conditions that make it one of the best places in the world to grow flavorful produce. This unique setting allows for year-round production and the assurance that every tomato meets the highest standards of taste, freshness, and quality.

Meeting Consumer Demand for Authentic Produce

Today’s consumers increasingly seek produce that delivers authentic flavor, heritage, and a great story. By offering heirloom tomatoes grown in a region steeped in rich agricultural tradition, Southern Specialties connects the consumer not only to a product but also to a legacy of farming passed down through generations.
