Community shelters and animal care facilities remain available, and the cause is under investigation.

See the full list of evacuation zones here.

HANFORD, CA - Back-to-school means back-to-on-the-go for adults and kids alike. Convenience and snack options, already paramount, become even more necessary when parents can’t be there for every meal. What better time to point them to the healthiest areas of the store?

Among the ideal back-to-school snacks for kids on the go is Nichols Farms' shelled pistachios in various flavors and sizes to match any need.

“Our 2 oz snack packs fit perfectly in lunch bags and are great for quick sports fuel, while the larger 5 oz and 6 oz packs are perfect for sharing or family snacking,” Christine Trageser, Senior Brand Manager, said. “Because pistachios offer a natural source of plant-based protein and fiber, they are able to keep kids full and focused throughout the day.”

Nichols Farms makes merchandising or cross-merchandising easier to accomplish in-store with display trays of its 2-oz no-shell pistachios in four different flavors: Roasted with Sea Salt, Cocoa Cookie, Garlic & Garden Herbs, and Jalapeño Lime. Additionally, Nichols Farms offers an organic line with additional flavor options like Maple Butter, Rosemary Garlic, Hot Honey, and Habanero Lime, adding a variety of possible flavor profiles in different areas of the store.

“These are great for when you’d like an impulse snack but want something healthy to take with you. The flavor variety also changes up snack routines, which can be a real win for getting kids to reach for something nutritious,” Christine pointed out.

Nichols Farms' pistachios are grown with sustainable practices, reminding me of an observation recently made by Raley’s Vice President of Sales and Merchandising, Faith Garrard, that, for her children specifically, she is willing to invest the extra spend for options that help build better health and pack more value.

Christine shared how the company has committed to using less water, enriching soils with organic compost, and utilizing clean energy, reflecting a distinct dedication to conservation.

“Families today are looking for practicality and good nutrition. Nichols Farms no-shell pistachios are a great go-to because they're easy to toss into a lunchbox or grab for a quick snack between activities. There's no mess, and our pistachios are dry-roasted without oils and naturally flavored, meeting the growing demand for clean, simple ingredients,” Christine concluded.

As parents begin preparing for the return to school, AndNowUKnow will continue to report produce options that help retailers match shoppers’ needs.
