<p style="text-indent:0px; line-height:12px;"><span style="font-weight:bold;">Conklin, MI-</span><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">By ANUK Staff<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">1.17.13</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Family members of Michigan-based apple grower, Leo Dietrich & Sons Orchard, are being featured in a series of McDonald’s commercials highlighting the fresh apple slices on the menu of 14,000 McDonald’s restaurants throughout the U.S., according to mlive.com.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/mcdonalds011613body.jpg" alt="Images 011613" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">“I’m in it and two of my nephews are in one,” said Dietrich, who saw one of the 30-second commercials when it debuted during the Golden Globe Awards.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Mike Dietrich, who owns and operates the orchard along with his brother Jim,will appear in some of the commercials along with his son and father, Leo.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">McDonald’s advertising agency DDB filmed the commercials on site at Dietrich’s orchard over the course of two and a half days in September.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Located west of Sparta, the family grows 400 acres of apples and recalled that they were approached by the agency after their orchard was recommended.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The orchard is one of several Michigan orchards that supply McDonalds with fruit for their apple slices, according to Dietrich.
