LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE, CA – For the 13th consecutive year, the Allen Lund Company (ALC) participated in Navidad en el Barrio, a charity established by Danny Villanueva, former NFL kicker, to provide Christmas dinners to Southern Californian families in need. Navidad en el Barrio restocked two food banks in addition to feeding 15,000 families. The location where ALC has volunteered the last three years, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, alone served 750 families on December 16th.
ALC’s Vice President Kenny Lund, said in a press release, “It is our pleasure to serve the community, and I am so proud of the ALC team, family, and friends for the work they did his past Saturday. As St. Francis taught us, ‘It is in giving that we recieve’ and we surely received more than we gave.”
The task of logistics and transport perfectly aligned with ALC’s skill set; ALC picked up donations at a Los Angeles warehouse and organized and delivered them to the families in need. Alongside ALC, Dayka Hackett, Grimmway Farms, Rainier Fruit, and Wada Farms provided fresh produce. ALC participated in Navidad en el Barrio as part of its ongoing Acts of Kindness Campaign, which you can read more about here and here.
Other acts of kindness have included assembling military care kits, donations to disaster relief in Puerto Rico, and fundraising for Guide Dogs of America. To keep up to date on Allen Lund’s work, both charitable and business, stay tuned to AndKnowUKnow.
