<p>Black Gold Farms has kicked off 2014 by expanding their red potato promotional program, Better With Reds, to include season-specific campaigns. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Leah Brakke, Director of Marketing for Black Gold Farms remarked, “We want to provide impactful promotions for retailers all year long, as well as create simple messages that resonate with consumers about red potatoes,” Brakke continued, “Red potatoes are easy, versatile and delicious. There really isn’t a reason consumers shouldn’t use them year-round. We’re excited to offer messaging and tools for retailers to easily and effectively promote red potatoes. Every meal, all year long – is Better With Reds.”</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The individual campaigns will highlight the many benefits of red potatoes while also focusing on what is timely at that point in the season, according to a press release. The first seasonal campaign kicked off on January 20th and is centered on Healthy Choices for the New Year. The campaign which and will run through March presents messaging highlighting the nutritional aspects of red potatoes and their versatility in healthy dish options.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>This first campaign launched with 12 food bloggers who shared healthy red potato recipes along with a giveaway, and a Twitter party which generated nearly 5,000 posts and over 6 million impressions. The hashtags, #healthychoices and #betterwithreds were a national trend on Twitter for over 30 minutes. During the next two months, Black Gold Farms will continue to share Healthy Choices messaging through social media, including a Facebook contest with a giveaway subscription to Top Chef University.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Throughout the year, other seasonal campaigns will feature locally grown programs, summer grilling and crockpot cooking ideas, as well as holiday entertaining. The campaigns will also host online consumer engagement and contests.
