The California Avocado Commission was the proud recipient of the Sensory Experience Contest award at PMA Foodservice in Monterey, California. The Commission won with the California Avocado Spicy Shrimp Lettuce Wraps recipe that was adapted from a recipe by Chef Brendan Sharp of Solbar at Solage Calistoga Resort. Jan Delyser, VP of Marketing, tells AndNowUKnow, "The recipe contained at least eight produce items including Fresh California Avocados as the star, butter leaf lettuce, pickled carrots, Thai basil, lime juice and zest, ginger, bean sprouts and mint. There were numerous layers of flavor. It was a hit!"<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Babe Farms has preparing to launch its conveniently packaged “Grab ‘n Go” gourmet vegetable pouch. The pouch is available in ten one-pound units per case and features bilingual packaging for Canadian shoppers. The packaging also includes a QR code that customers can scan to discover new recipes. Eight different veggies will be available in this new packaging, including baby purple artichokes, baby rainbow carrots, gourmet radishes, and baby colorful cauliflower.
