<p> Cauliflower is on target to potentially become the new kale in 2014, says food trend watchers. The versatile vegetable is gaining even bigger buzz in culinary circles and could stand to be a worthy rival to the superfood, according to Canadian news publication Metro.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> “Kale had that buzz and everybody loves kale chips and how many restaurants have we seen that have kale on the menu, but cauliflower is certainly the huge buzz this year. Bigger than ever,” says Christine Couvelier, executive chef and global culinary trendologist.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Cauliflower can be mashed, grilled, broiled, served on its own, in salads, or tossed with herbs, vinegars, and oils.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Other food trend watchers like Dana McCauley, vice president of marketing for Plats du Chef Foods, are predicting that Swiss chard, another popular super green, could also possibly take over kale.
