Robinson and the Minnesota Timberwolves are teaming up this month for a worthy cause. WolvesCare month, presented by C.H. Robinson, and the Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation will turn its attention to some of the basketball power house's smallest fans, but with huge hearts: children suffering chronic illnesses.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/chrobinson010313.jpg" alt="images010312" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">During Timberwolves games and at events across the community throughout January, the FastBreak Foundation's WolvesCare initiative will work to make a difference, according to a press release. The FastBreak Foundation is supported by the Roger and Nancy McCabe Foundation.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Timberwolves President Chris Wright, stated, "It's a privilege for our organization to recognize and celebrate this courageous and inspirational group of Wolves fans." Chris Wright, continues, "It is our hope that this month's programming will not only provide positive experiences for these great kids, but also help to build awareness for some of the illnesses they are living with. We are pleased to team up with C.H. Robinson to accomplish these goals."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The following events will be a part WolvesCare Month, according to the press release:<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Jan. 8 - Grant Presentations<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Each month, the FastBreak Foundation works to identify two local non-profits with goals that are closely aligned with the Foundation's monthly theme and bolster their programming through a $5,000 grant. This month's recipients are Blair's Tree of Hope and Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare. These two organizations will be awarded their grant at the Wolves/Hawks game on Jan. 8.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Blair's Tree of Hope helps the families of children who have been hospitalized with a life-threatening illness by providing them with meals, gas cards &amp; grocery cards, parking passes, toiletries, magazines, books, etc.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare provides the highly specialized care that children who have disabilities and complex conditions need, Gillette is internationally renowned for a level of pediatric expertise.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Jan. 5-30 - Heroes in the Making<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">At five home games throughout WolvesCare Month, the FastBreak Foundation will recognize a local "Hero in the Making." The Foundation has identified local children battling chronic illnesses and will share their stories with the Target Center crowd on game nights. These inspirational fans will be treated to a suite for the game and recognized in a special on-court ceremony.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Jan. 29 – Mall of America Takeover<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">As part of The FastBreak Foundation's WolvesCare month presented by C.H. Robinson, 15-20 area children that have been diagnosed with long-term illnesses will be taking over the Mall of America for a day of fun alongside Timberwolves players. The children will get the chance to create a new friend at the Build-A-Bear store, enjoy some ice cream and wrap up the day at SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
