This April, D’Arrigo Bros. is celebrating one year of growing premium Andy Boy Artichokes. The company plans to double its acreage for the popular item, in the fertile soil of the Salinas Valley. D’Arrigo grows a Madrigal thorned variety which is packaged in ‘pink’ Andy Boy cartons in sizes 12, 18, 20, 24, 36, 48, small loose and large loose. Claudia Pizarro Villalobos, Sales Specialist, tells AndNowUKnow, “We have year-round availability on the delicious and versatile Andy Boy Artichokes that are rich in fiber, vitamin C and antioxidants.”

Forget about flying or driving your car to PMA this year; how about riding your bike... That’s exactly what several fresh produce brands are arranging prior to this year’s PMA. Everyone is invited to participate in a new event called the “Tour de Fresh.” Organizers are recruiting cyclists in the fresh produce industry to ride from Carmel, CA to Anaheim over the four days leading up to the 2014 Fresh Summit. The inaugural Tour de Fresh is designed to raise funds for the “Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools” initiative – with a goal of 30 salad bars – as well as provide a nine-month long promotional opportunity for participating sponsors of the event. Anthony Gallino, Vice President of Sales at event sponsor California Giant Berry Farms, tells AndNowUKnow, “It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced cyclist or not, the idea is to promote a healthy lifestyle, bond with some industry friends, and support a great cause!” Sponsorship opportunities are now available.
