GOODLETTSVILLE, TN - Dollar General Corporation announced the appointment of Travis Nixon to the newly established position of senior vice president of artificial intelligence (AI) optimization. Nixon will lead Dollar General’s business process management initiatives, applying AI to identify and drive chainwide optimization opportunities in areas such as merchandising, supply chain and store operations.

Nixon joins Dollar General with over a decade of experience in AI and machine learning, most recently serving as Head of AI for Dropbox’s Security Division where he led its transformation into an AI-driven organization. He previously held leadership roles as Meta’s Head of Measurement and Understanding and Microsoft’s Chief Data Scientist for Financial Services. Additionally, Nixon has served on the SynerAI’s Board of Directors since 2020, shaping its AI strategy for stock market insights.

Nixon earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Brigham Young University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia.
