The company is enjoying rave reviews of its baby kale organic offerings that include Zen Blend, Mixed Baby Kale, and Power Greens. Earthbound Farm is noticing that consumers are becoming increasingly “kale curious” as knowledge of this superfood becomes more commonplace. Samantha Cabaluna, Vice President of Communications and Marketing, tells AndNowUKnow, “Baby kale is much more accessible than mature bunched kale and offers an unintimidating initiation to the product. It’s sweeter, more tender, and requires no preparation.”

Freska produce is currently wrapping up its mango production in Oaxaca. Next, the company will shortly move north to the Sinaloa and Nayarit areas of Mexico, where varieties will include Tommy Atkins, Kent’s, and Ataulfos. The Northern Mexico deal will be in full harvest by June 1st. Right now, large fruit, 6 to 9’s, is getting premium pricing and small fruit, 10’s- 14’s, is in plentiful supply. Gary Clevenger, Managing Member and Co-Founder, tells AndNowUKnow, “Although mangos may be in short supply over the next few weeks, the upcoming months will be a great time for retailers to promote mangoes. Large displays will boost sales and drive other produce purchases.”
