The new variety will reach stores in May and is harvested out of the Imperial Valley and will be available through the beginning of July.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> According to a press release, consumers will “delight in the Origami’s deep orange color, high brix, and great flavor,” while retailers will also be pleased with the “excellent quality and firmness, good shipping ability, and longer shelf life.” This unique Cantaloupe variety was developed by HM.CLAUSE and promoted under the companies’ Harris Moran Seed Company brand.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p> “The Origami melon brings the best attributes of a Western shipper paired with the shelf life of the Harper variety,” said Bill Colace, Owner of Five Crowns Marketing. “We have been searching for a replacement for Impac for years. We will be shipping cantaloupes with higher brix, better color, smaller seed cavity, and better flavor this season.
