Flavor Tree is currently packing its yellow and white flesh peaches and nectarines, harvested out of Kings County. The company is reporting excellent quality with somewhat smaller sizing for most varieties this season. Demand has been strong for the bigger size yellow flesh fruit, and good on all sizes for white flesh. Flavor Tree is also gearing up for harvest of a high brix plum variety in the next few weeks. Kaleb Smith, Food Safety and Sales Assistant, tells AndNowUKnow, “We are beginning harvest on a few cherry plum crosses that we have in our test blocks as well.”

Mountain King Potatoes is picking up momentum on its Steak House Roasters line of fingerling potatoes. The company's goal is to present an improved eating experience for the item while tapping into the target market of 20 to 35 year olds who are the highest users of fingerling potatoes. The company uses a variety of fingerlings in the Roasters' line that include Russian Bananas, Rose Finn Apple, Princess Laratte and Purple Majesty. John Pope, VP Sales & Marketing, tells AndNowUKnow, "Using a variety of different colored potatoes in our Steak House Roasters provides for a range of subtle, differentiating flavors that consumers seem to love."
