<p>Floods in one of Ontario’s most fertile regions have caused about $1 million in damage so far, after two dykes in the area ruptured last weekend. Over 200 acres of farmland in the Holland Marsh area have been destroyed.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Farmland in the area near the town of Bradford West Gwillimbury continues to be inundated with water from Lake Simcoe and the Holland River after a dyke broke last month, according CTVNews.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Over 190 acres of onion and carrot crops were ruined.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Local farmer Randy Riffert assessed damage from a motorboat.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">“I never thought about driving a boat out here,” he said. “It’s just devastating.
