Freska Produce is starting to ship Ataulfos, Tommy Atkins, Hadens, and Kents out of Ecuador, with first shipment to the U.S. set to arrive the middle of next week. Weather has been excellent this season, bringing an early start to production. This year, yields will be about 20-30 percent higher, which means sizing will be a bit smaller. Co-Owner, Gary Clevenger, tells us, “We also begin shipping mangos out of Peru at the beginning of December, which means there will an overcross of fruit from both regions and there will be plenty of quality fruit and promotional opportunities throughout the new year.” The season in Ecuador winds down in January and Freska will have fruit from Peru until March.

North Shore Sales and Marketing is launching a new product at this year's PMA, its Poultry Delights Value pack. The item consists of 1 living rosemary, sage, and thyme plant in a single clamshell with a 12-pack shipper/display. Serena Leiterman, Sales and Marketing Manager, tells AndNowUKnow, "Retailers can capture added sales by cross merchandising with a holiday set or in the meat department. These herb varieties are in high demand for the holidays and are key ingredients to many traditional holiday recipes." Stop by Booth # 4324 at PMA to pre-order the product for Christmas and New Years.
