Freska Produce has kicked off its mango program south of the border in Oaxaca, Mexico. The company has begun importing Ataulfos with Tommy Atkins soon to join. Freska's Mexican mango program, which lasts into September, will see expansion on its Ataulfo offerings over the month as supplies come in from southern Mexico. Weather in Oaxaca has been cool but is warming up as of recently to allow the fruit to be harvested. Gary Clevenger, Managing Member, tells AndNowUKnow, "Freska's Mexican Mango program is projected to produce higher volumes this year as younger trees have come into maturity. It's the ideal time for retailers to promote mangos as demand continues to rise and the popularity of the fruit is at an all-time high with per capita consumption increasing every year."

Duda Farm Fresh Foods is picking up momentum on its Mandarin program in California. With the anticipation of peak volume hitting in February, the company has introduced its Citrines Grab N’ Go Mandarin 4-count pack and accompanying display, with pop up POS signage. Both the high graphic packaging and Citrine box present a QR code linking consumers to information about the company and its family of produce offerings. Paul Huckabay, Western Citrus Sales Manager, tells AndNowUKnow, "We are experiencing a great deal of success with this item in convenience stores, traditional retail stores and club stores. The Mandarin crop has experienced very minimal damage with the recent freeze in the Central Valley and is presenting ideal fruit size and great eating quality."
