<p>With a wide variety of specialty fruits in large volume, Frieda’s Specialty Produce is help retailers create a Jewish holiday destination display in their produce departments.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"Many of our retailers who serve Jewish consumers request an extensive variety of tropical and unusual fruits for their Rosh Hashanah displays, so we realized they were on to something," said Karen Caplan, Frieda's President and CEO. "We can barely keep supplies of tropical fruits in stock -- they are flying off the shelves so fast!"</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>It is a tradition to try a new fruit in the “new year.” Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of the Jewish New Year, begins at sundown on September 4th and is a great opportunity for retailers to merchandise a variety of specialty fruits like Cherimoyas, Dragon Fruits, Organic Finger Limes, and Asian and Ya Pears, as well as the traditional Medjool Dates, Raisins on the Vine, Pomegranates, Pomegranate Arils, and Wild Honeycomb, according to a press release. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Cross-merchandising apples and honey in the produce department is also suggested, as it is a tradition to dip apples in honey for a sweet new year.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Yom Kippur begins at sundown on September 13 and ends on September 14.
