Green Giant Fresh recently introduced its new Hydroponic Butter Lettuce to its fresh produce lineup. With growing partner, Hollandia Produce, the company will be consolidating at Growers Express in Salinas, CA and Yuma, AZ. Supplies will pick up in the Spring, where Green Giant Fresh is focusing its promotional efforts. VP of Sales, Merritt Bruce, tells AndNowUKnow, “The Leaf Category has suffered in recent years due to the success of multi-leaf and other category offerings. Compared to traditional offerings, Living Butter has better shelf life, a ‘just picked’ taste texture, and quality along with ease of merchandising.” The company will be offering retail support along with the Box Tops promotional platform to help introduce and grow retailer success in this emerging category.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The California Medjool Date harvest has come to an end with all the delicious fruit ready to ship from storage. The quality has been very nice this year with exceptional size and tight skin. The excellent quality will insure good availability through the summer.
