Over the course of the past year Homegrown Organic Farms has come to know new customers, new growers, and new achievements. The company’s expanding customer and grower base goes to prove that organics is here to stay.

Cherie France, Marketing Manager, tells AndNowUKnow, “We are always encouraged by the continued excitement and commitment from our retailers in the organic programs. It seems as though the retailers that have a clear organic strategy are growing and experiencing success within their market. Our industry continues to grow within its proficiency of marketing organic produce to the public. The future of the organic produce industry is very bright.”

The announcement of our purchase of a new master facility earlier in 2013 also demonstrates the next critical step in Homegrown’s evolution as a premier shipper of organic citrus, blueberries, and tree fruit.

“It’s been exciting for us to better serve our customers with the addition of this facility,” Cherie tells us.

Moving into 2014, the company has a new line, and new offerings like its new 5lb Organic Lemon bag. Cherie notes “Our lemon offering will remain on a year-round basis with some fluctuation in volume depending on the time of year. Additionally, our Organic Limes were also a big success in 2013 and we’re looking forward to growing that business in 2014. With growers in the two main growing regions of Mexico, we’re able to fill orders on a year-round business. We offer 40lb bulk, 10lb bulk, and 1lb bags (in various configurations) in our Bella Terra Organics label.”

Homegrown’s citrus category is also continuing to grow. Most recently with the addition of its brand-new Organic Pummelo offering. The company’s Pummelo season is at its peak now and will carry on through February. This item in particular is a great promotional item during the Chinese New Year (January 31) given the fruit’s significance within the Asian culture.

Homegrown Organic Farms
