JemD Farms has recently launched new packaging to its Artisan Series line of fresh greenhouse produce. The company is offering high graphic, modified atmosphere gusset bags and modified atmosphere trays for a variety of the company's fresh products. The innovation benefits the retailer by extending the shelf life of the produce. Also new to the Artisan line is a basket-weave bottom clamshell with a dome top that presents the rustic feel of harvest. Sabrina Pokomandy, Marketing & Public Relations Manager, tells AndNowUKNow, "Our focus is to accommodate the multiple formats and styles that are specific to each of our retail partners."

Coastline has kicked off the transition from its farms in Salinas to the grower's desert operations in the Imperial Valley. The company will continue harvesting most of its mixed vegetable items for another week and a half in Salinas and hopes to be fully operating in Brawley, California around the 10th of December. Coastline is currently shipping lettuce out of Huron and celery from Oxnard with plans to have romaine, green and red leaf lettuce ready for harvest in Yuma this week. Sales Manager, Mark McBride, tells AndNowUKnow, "The transition is a very exciting and dynamic time of year for Coastline, and we take it with all the challenges and surprises that it invites."
