KINGSVILLE, ONTARIO, CANADA - Cooking up even more innovation, Mastronardi Produce® is ramping up its award-winning Queen of Greens® lettuce brand with a new line of salad kits. These additions bring four new SKUs to the category and will debut at the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show.
“We are thrilled to enter this booming category with a top-shelf line of products. Consumers want salad kits that are innovative and flavorful, and Mastronardi Produce is a demonstrated leader in both those domains,” remarked Peppe Bonfiglio, Vice President of Sales at Mastronardi Produce.
The salad kits feature the brand’s premium crafted lettuce blends and carefully selected toppings, bringing vibrant flavors and textures to each offering. They will be ready to grace the shelves of United States retailers early next year.
According to a press release, Mastronardi Produce’s in-house marketing team performed meticulous research to source and hand-select gourmet ingredients for the salad kit components, resulting in the following offerings:
- Superior Caesar™: Raging Romaine™ blend with crumbled croutons, shredded Parmesan cheese, and creamy Caesar dressing
- Mediterranean Crunch™: Spirited Spring Mix™ blend with crispy chickpeas, feta cheese, and organic Greek vinaigrette
- Lemon Parmesan™: Unruly Arugula™ blend with sliced almonds, shredded Parmesan cheese, and lemon basil dressing
- Southwest Ranch™: Raging Romaine blend with crispy corn, tortilla strips, Cheddar cheese, and chipotle ranch dressing
With salad kits generating over $2.8 billion annually and continuing to grow year over year, this is a key strategic expansion of Mastronardi Produce’s product portfolio. The company noted that it anticipates the new brand extension to interrupt the salad kit segment.
Queen of Greens launched last fall and has been making waves ever since due to the fact that its greenhouse-grown lettuce is washed and ready-to-eat. In February, the brand was also awarded a prestigious PAC Global Award for Brand Marketing due to its eye-catching label design.
The new salad kits will be in the spotlight at the International Fresh Produce Association’s Global Produce & Floral Show next week, so be sure to stop by booth #1281.
