McDonald's Testing Cuties Mandarins in Happy Meals

<p> Sun Pacific’s Cuties mandarins are now appearing in McDonald’s restaurants across Austin, Texas. The fast food chain is testing the fruit for a limited time as a new side option for its Happy Meals and Mighty Kids Meals. As part of its on-going effort to encourage healthy eating among children, McDonald’s will also be offering Cuties for individual purchase.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> From February 7th to the 8th and February 14th to the 15th, free Cuties will be offered to everyone who buys a Happy Meal or a Mighty Kids Meal, along with their choice of apple slices or Go-GURT yogurt tubes. To further encourage sampling the new offering, both McDonald’s and Cuties will be promoting the side option through local public relations outreach and targeted social media campaigns, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Since 2012, McDonald’s began to include fresh produce options like apple slices in every Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meals, which resulted in serving over 850 million bags of apple slices.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> As this sweet and juicy snack becomes a household name, especially among children, it’s easy to see why Cuties would be a logical choice to include in McDonald’s Happy Meals.
