Mission Produce is currently transitioning from its Mexican avocado program to its fruit from Peru. Supplies have just begun to hit the east and west coast as the seasonal decline from Mexico gets underway. In addition, California avocados are at full speed, with growers shipping more fruit than ever. Currently the US market is consuming a record volume of about 35-36 million pounds per week from all sources combined. Jim Donovan, VP of Business Development, tells AndNowUKnow, "Mission Produce is continuing to work on its expansion initiatives with its packing facilities in Michoacán Mexico and a new Oxnard, California facility. The company is also expanding several ripening centers across the US on the horizon, which greatly increase its capacity capabilities."

Sun West Fruit Company is currently in full swing on its stone fruit harvest out of Central California. Supplies of peaches, plums, and nectarines are expected to be strong through September. Quality and sizing are exceptional, with the biggest fruit available through August. Doug Sankey tells AndNowUKnow, “All the stars are aligning. Demand is continuing to increase as the fourth of July approaches, so its the perfect time for retailers to promote the fruit!”
