To develop the report, MJR analyzed hundreds of thousands of social media posts from Twitter, Facebook, blogs, and industry and mainstream media during the 30 day period during October 5-November 4, 2012.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Report author and analyst Bradley Fitzhenry, of MJR Creative Group says, "The produce industry has been slow to embrace social media, but we are seeing a significant surge by national brands like Dole, produce groups like California Avocados, and industry organizations like the PMA leading the way in understanding the marketing power of social media."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The report revealed Twitter was the dominant social media channel for conversations with over 3,600 tweets with a potential reach of 5.5 million people, over an intense 72-hour period surrounding the event.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"In addition to Twitter we saw social traffic emerging from Facebook, agency blogs and industry publications.
