TRAVERSE CITY, MI - Get ready for a walk through the berry patch, as North Bay Produce is bringing an impressive portfolio to the International Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA) Global Produce & Floral Show. Before we kick off the event in October, I had the chance to chat with North Bay Director of Marketing and Strategic Development Brian Klumpp.

Brian Klump, Director of Marketing and Strategic Development, North Bay Produce“It will be wonderful to be back in person for all attending. It has been a long time, so that will feel great. This is a marquee event for our industry, and with the new IFPA organization, it promises to offer more than ever to all in the fresh produce industry,” Brian told me.

North Bay will be showcasing its SEKOYA / LIVIE blueberries in addition to introducing a new variety of blackberries. According to Brian, these berries have been developed to be class-leading products, and North Bay believes they will be welcome news for those looking for premium varieties.

The company is also looking forward to utilizing its new booth. North Bay had it built over two years ago for just this show, and then the pandemic meant it had to be placed in storage. Now, the team is dusting it off and getting it ready for Orlando, Florida.

“There will be quite a few people from North Bay Produce in attendance who have not seen many of their colleagues for some time because of the shutdowns over the past couple of years,” Brian continued. “For that reason, it is very important to us to participate in all aspects of the show: meetings with customers, participating in the various events, and walking the show to see as much as possible.”

Brian explained that North Bay would first like its booth visitors to better understand the impact that being a grower-owned cooperative has on its business. The farmers take great care and are very proud of the fruits and vegetables they provide to the world, and their hard work enables North Bay to provide excellent produce throughout the year.

“We also want people to have a better understanding of our company’s culture. There is a sincere enthusiasm for the business that the employees of North Bay Produce share. This prevailing attitude helps us to overcome obstacles and provide tremendous quality and service,” Brian relayed. “If we are successful in conveying these keystones of our business, our booth guests should better understand all that North Bay Produce is able to do to help their businesses succeed.”
