The Nunes Company is continuing to expand its organic line of fresh produce. Recently, the company added beets and leeks and can now offer everything organically in its portfolio, that it offers conventionally...including kale, chard, and parsley. The company is currently transitioning from its Salinas operations to Yuma, Arizona, and will be starting on all categories in Yuma this week. Matt Seeley, VP of Marketing, tells AndNowUKnow, "Growing our organic business has been a tremendous learning experience and adding beets and leeks is a natural line expansion to our overall program. We are looking to increase fresh produce consumption overall, whether consumers want organic or convention vegetables, we are just offering them a choice.”

Avocados from Mexico is launching a new promotion with Modelo beer to align the fresh avocados with holiday traditions and entertaining. Running through the end of December, the campaign will focus on Hispanic, as well as general market retailers. Retailer resources include POS templates, joint displays in produce, out-of-department display opportunities in the beer & liquor aisle, coupon books, tear pads, as well as food pairings & recipes. Maggie Bezart Hall, Vice President of Trade and Promotion for AFM, tells AndNowUKnow, “Partnerships are a great opportunity to bring both brands together to garner additional exposure at retail and enhance the retail experience. Partner displays attract shoppers by maximizing value-added offerings and increase basket ring for the retailers.”
