As Ocean Mist Farms winds down on its desert season, the artichoke category leader has begun planning for the upcoming artichoke season in Castroville, California. The company is offering a wide range of promotional opportunities for retailers leading into peak season which kicks off in mid-March and runs through May. Ocean Mist Farms will be matching availability and weekly volumes with demand for retailers as well as multi-faceted direct retail promotions, in-store events, and direct consumer campaigns. Kori Tuggle, Director of Marketing & Business Development, tells AndNowUKnow, "We are looking forward to promoting our classic green globe variety and helping retailers maximize their opportunities for incremental sales when heavy volumes arrive in those peak months when artichokes are top of mind."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Turbana and its parent company Uniban have subscribed to the mission and goals of Fair Trade even before Fair Trade was created in 1988. Thanks to the Fair Trade Premium available to its farm workers, the banana company has invested $18.4 million on education, housing, small business loans, and community development just in the last 5 years. Marion Tabard, Marketing Director, tells AndNowUKnow, "Just sixty-nine boxes of Fair Trade Certified bananas sold in an American supermarket allows one child from a poor family to receive an education at a local school. Our mission is to improve lives through empowerment.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
