Ocean Mist Farms is presenting its year-round Brussels sprouts program. U.S. supply of fresh Brussels sprouts primarily grow in Mexico from December through June and in California from July through December. Ocean Mist's crop of California Brussels sprouts just started in early July. Kori Tuggle, Director of Marketing & Business Development, tells AndNowUKnow, "We overlap with our Mexico crop the first two weeks to avoid having supply gaps and are now off to a good start for summer volume. Our quality is excellent with nice, tight bulbs and bright green color." The popular Sprout stalks will increase in volume starting in October—ramping up for the holiday pull period. The company is seeing a trend in the 1 pound clamshell being replaced by its 1 pound ready to eat, microwavable packaging. Also, keep on the look out, Ocean Mist will be expanding its Brussels sprout line with a variety of new value added options this Fall.

Its that time again, and a new crop of Caramel Naturel medjool dates are just around the corner. Atlas Produce, the brand's exclusive supplier, will kick off the season in the last week of August with harvest running for 8 to 12 weeks. The southern California weather has been ideal for growing medjool dates this summer with long hot days well above 100 degrees. Ben Antongiovanni,Vice President of Sales, tells AndNowUKnow, "Due to exceptional weather and new groves coming into production we are expecting our volume to increase close to 20% this coming season for our 100% natural Californian grown Caramel Naturel Medjool Dates. The fruit is setting on the palm nice and Caramel Naturel will have some of the largest fruit on the market this fall."
