<p>In the yearly Greenhouse competitions celebrating Essex County as being the largest greenhouse industry in North America, Orangeline Farms took home 2 Awards. The company won for the Coolest Cucumber: the People’s Choice for their Mini Cucumbers. Their Sweet Pepper also won in the category of Best Specialty in the Perfect Pepper competition.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">“We are extremely proud of the job our growing team is doing this year.” said Jordan Kniaziew, Vice President at Orangeline Farms. “Being our first year in the competition it was a great honor to win the People’s Choice award for our Mini Cucumber as well as Best Specialty Sweet Pepper”. He also added, “ It really strengthens our position as an award winning specialty greenhouse grower”.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The event – in its 7th year – was hosted by REACH international. These unique competitions happen in two stages. First, on Friday evening, expert judges from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture &amp; Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), Heinz, grocery store produce managers, chefs and many others judged the 130 entries with a pre-determined list of criteria. Second, throughout Friday and Saturday, the public voted for their favorite Tomato, Pepper and Cucumber for the “People’s Choice” awards.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Congratulations on the awards!
