MONTEREY, CA - Getting the industry pumped up for the upcoming Organic Grower Summit (OGS) slated for November 30–December 1 in Monterey, California, the Organic Produce Network (OPN) and Western Growers (WG) have announced the 2022 keynote presentation. Called Grower Roundtable: The State of Organic Growing, the session will feature leadership from three of the country’s most progressive organic growers.

Dave Puglia, President and Chief Executive Officer, Western Growers“While consumption of fresh organic produce continues to climb, domestic growers face an unprecedented array of regulatory and marketplace challenges that threaten future growth,” Dave Puglia, President and Chief Executive Officer of Western Growers, said. “The leaders on this panel will share valuable insight into the state of the organic industry and strategies for turning obstacles into opportunities.”

Puglia will moderate the presentation, and the panelists include Brie Reiter Smith, Vice President of Product Leadership at Driscoll’s; Michael DuPuis, Quality Assurance and Public Relations Coordinator for Divine Flavor; and Tom Nunes V, President of The Nunes Company. According to a release, the leaders will offer candid commentary throughout. They will explore how they deal with hot-button topics such as supply chain issues, inflation, labor, technology, and more.

This year’s OGS is designed to provide information vital to organic growers and producers, including an overview of opportunities and challenges in producing fresh food. The recently announced keynote presentation is just one piece of the program that was created to educate and engage producers, service providers, and other supply chain partners.
