<p>The Rainforest Alliance has appointed international supermodel, entrepreneur and environmental activist Gisele Bündchen to its Board of Directors. Joining the board, Bündchen will help shape the vision, strategic plans and policies that guide the Alliance’s development and global sustainability efforts.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">“We are delighted to welcome Gisele Bündchen to our Board of Directors,” stated Tensie Whelan, President of the Rainforest Alliance. “Along with her acute business acumen, Gisele brings an authentic passion for environmental issues and social innovation. We look forward to working together to expand our current sustainability initiatives and to develop new and creative strategies to tackle social and environmental challenges worldwide.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In 2008, Bündchen launched a green blog that addresses socio-environmental issues and in May 2009, she co-hosted the Rainforest Alliance's annual gala to honor leaders in sustainability, according to a press release. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>“I have long admired the work of the Rainforest Alliance and its positive impact on the environment.
