These solutions are ideal for a wide range of fresh produce such as onions, potatoes, garlic, apples, citrus, and ginger.”
Sev-Rend’s clip wire is manufactured from 100 percent domestically sourced steel and is available in zinc, copper, and tin coatings and multiple sizes to meet industry needs.
“Producing locally also supports the U.S. economy and reduces environmental impact, cuts costs, and avoids tariffs while ensuring faster lead times and superior quality control,” Brittnie adds. “We are reducing supply chain risk for our tag and netting customers. Until now, nearly all clipper wire used in the U.S. came from a single source in the EU. Our main steel supplier is in-state now, which we really like!”
Sev-Rend’s clip wire is available to customers in North America, including the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
I asked Brittnie to describe Sev-Rend’s mission and vision for bringing innovative and cost-effective solutions for its customers, and she opens the door to new opportunities.
“For owners and shed operators, Sev-Rend is looking out for their business on materials, costs, and run-ability on existing equipment. There’s a lot of over-promising and concern for what retailers want from the packers. We stay focused on keeping costs down and run speeds up,” she expresses. “For sales and marketing teams and our produce customers, we stay current on retailer packaging guidelines and provide the data to support their proposals. Most retailers are ambitious in their packaging and timelines. It’s a challenge if you're supplying 15 different grocers to know and comply on the packaging. We’re on call to answer questions in the moment and help.”
