<p>Shanley Farms is launching its new Gator Eggs single serving avocados. The latest addition to the company’s line of fresh produce items begins shipping this week with supplies coming from Del Rey, California to kick off the program. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The Morro Bay, California-based company also will have the capability of sourcing from Mexico within the next 30 days to accommodate the program as it continues to grow. Gator Eggs come in a 6-pack carton (8 units to a case) with high graphic décor designed to be bright and attractive for customers to use in their retail efforts.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>“Our goal was to provide consumers with an item better suited for single serving avocado consumption. Many consumers go for smaller sizes when adding avocado to individual salads and sandwiches or just as a snack in itself, so this was our way of addressing that avocado trend,” Megan Shanley of Shanley Farms tells AndNowUKnow.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>“This item can help retailers differentiate their avocado category,” she notes.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Shanley Farms is offering year-round supplies of Gator Eggs program with limited organic volumes for this initial release. These small wonders are as marketed as 100-calorie servings, as well.
