Stemilt Growers is kicking off its pear harvest starting with the Bartlett variety. These and other Stemilt pears are grown in the world’s premier locations for pears – the Wenatchee River Valley and Entiat River Valley. Orchards there are surrounded by high alpine mountains that protect pears and supply good airflow in order to consistently deliver pears in the right size profile and with world famous qualities. Stemilt harvests Bartlett pears in August and then quickly cools and packs the fruit. The company will support its customers pop-up display bins, tri-wall bins, and signage available to assist any pear promotions. Roger Pepperl, Marketing Director, tells AndNowUKnow, "This distinction reduces scuffing and minimizes handling in order to deliver clean, high-quality pears to the produce department."

Yerecic is seeing growing demand for the company's proprietary peelable labels. These new labels are a fresh take on presenting fresh produce with decorative designs that you would usually see on high margin items but are low cost and still high quality. The labels allow companies to familiarize customers with the story of the grower, present finished dish ideas and recipes, while also differentiating themselves from other companies with appearance and innovation. Rich Thoma VP SALES & MARKETING, tells AndNowUKnow, "The label enables our customers to better connect with the shopper. With the introduction of holographic labels, sparkling and vibrant raised images and letters, we are creating a product that is stimulating to the senses and showcases a healthy, nutritious product.
