Sunkist is presenting a few citrus favorites as Winter gets underway. Navel oranges are entering peak season with high demand in anticipation of Christmas and the Lunar New Year, along with Cara Cara navels. The company has branded Cara Caras as “The Power Orange” because of this variety’s amazing nutritional benefits – perfect for battling cold and flu season. Sunkist Moro oranges will also be available. Promotions around the Lunar New Year, which have become very popular for the company, will continue this year with a new themed 10-lb carton featuring the “Year of the Horse” for 2014. Joan Wickham, Sunkist’s Advertising & PR Manager, tells AndNowUKnow, “Sunkist offers retailers decorative holiday and Lunar New Year cartons for navel oranges to capitalize on seasonal consumer excitement around oranges, which have cultural significance in many cultures.”

Cenergy Power has signed a new client - Sundale Vineyards. The company has broken ground on a 1,130 kW solar system for Sundale’s cold storage facility. Benefits of the project include a 92% utility bill offset and nearly 1.17 mill kWh per year of solar production, which will attribute to a 4.0 year payback with +20% IRR. Todd Kinosian, Owner of Sundale Vineyards, tells AndNowUKnow, “After several years of investigating in solar power, we felt it was the right time, due to the reduced cost of solar, availability of net-metering credits and sizeable tax incentives. This solar project is a testament of our endless commitment of creating value for our customers and the environment.”
