Well-Pict Berries has kicked off harvest on its newest raspberry crop in Watsonville, California. Weather has been favorable this season and quality is good, making it the perfect time for berry lovers to stock up on their fruit favorites. The grower has also just finished planting strawberries in Oxnard, with the berries carrying the company from the end of September into mid-December. Dan Crowley, tells AndNowUKnow, "The great weather out here in California has created the perfect growing conditions for our berry offerings and it is a great time for retailers to feature the product front and center, with promotable volumes drawing consumers out of the heat, into produce departments."

C.H. Robinson recently completed a case study specifically involving Gills Onions, as part of a program to improve supply chain efficiency for all Western Growers members. The challenge that motivated C.H. Robinson’s study was the need for Western Growers and Gills Onions to provide consistent and reliable equipment to members, meet customer delivered pricing requirements, improve service levels, and drive efficiencies throughout the supply chain. The innovative program is open to all Western Growers members. C.H. Robinson tells AndNowUKnow, "C.H. Robinson is excited to reveal this latest case study with our partners Western Growers and Gills Onions. It is our goal to provide creative, flexible transportation solutions for shipping capacity and overall consolidation savings. And this case study is our testament to that."
