Well-Pict Berries recently hosted an event with Chef Larry Forgione, a group of chefs-in-training from the Culinary Institute of America, and select members of the press for a Farm-to-Fork tour. The goal of the event was to provide the future food influencers and chefs in training a chance to experience 'where the food' comes from. The day was part of a larger educational CIA component about knowing how food is grown behind the scenes. Topics covered included the difference in berry preferences in the domestic market, as well as international/sustainable growing practices and how new proprietary non-GMO varieties are developed. Dan Crowley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, tells AndNowUKnow, "The day offered an opportunity to get hands-on with the future flavor makers in the culinary world."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Freshway Foods is experiencing success with its Power Packs! The company works with schools that participate in the USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program to provide healthy snacks for kids across the eastern half of the U.S. Freshway Foods is now using superheroes as a way to promote the items. The rebranding efforts have led to a significant increase in sales in just the first few weeks of the school year. Janet Eastman, Director of Marketing, tell us, “The 2 oz. Power Packs make it easy and fun for kids to snack healthy and increase their fruit and veggie intake.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
